Simply put, diamond prices and values are subject to so many lies, falsehoods and misrepresentations that investors cannot safely trade in them on a commodity exchange.

The fact that diamonds can now be made by a machine with perfect color and clarity  in a little over an hour using the identical materials in mined diamonds and sold for as little as $30 per carat guarantees the only certainty now is more manipulation and misrepresentation to keep prices high.
